- March 13 - NO OPEN SKATE
**St. Patrick's Family Skate: Date: March 12, 2010, Time: 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., Admission: $3.00 (special event), Skate rental: $2.00. There will be a DJ rink side with games and prizes. This is the last open skate of the season.
**St. Patrick's Cookie and Craft: Ages: 1 - 5, Time: 10:30 - 11:15, Cost: $2.00, Date: March 17, 2010. Come and decorate some cookies and make some Shamrocks.
**Lunch Bunch Storytime & Craft: Ages: 2 - 5, Date: March 15, 22, 29 & April 5, Time: 11:00 - 12:00 noon, Cost: $10.00 per person. After tot time on Monday's we will have a lunch with story time and a craft. Child must have a parent or guardian with them. Must pre-register.
**Music & Movement: Ages: 1 - 4, Time: 10:30 - 11:00, Date: March 25, April 1, 8 & 15, Cost: $10.00 per child. During this program your child will develop socialization skills and have some fun! Your child will learn songs, dances and finger plays. Come and join the fun. A parent or guardian must stay with the child during class. Must pre-register.
**Children's Festival: Date: April 10, 2010, Time: 10:00 - 2:00 p.m., Place: Smith Center, Cost: FREE, There will be many different activities for your child to do throughout the day. Special appearance by the Fire Pup and Mickey & Minnie. A bike rodeo sponsored by Marshfield Clinic, a children's rodeo provided by the Wisconsin River Pro Rodeo, vendors, demonstrations, face painting, jumpy castle and more.......
***Register to win a "Total Makeover" with a GRAND REVEAL at the Ladies Lifestyle Expo on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. The winner will be treated to a hair, nails, and makeup makeover at Waves Full Service Salon and a fantastic new outfit and jewelry to complete the look from Thelma's of Merrill. ***Win $25 in Merrill Bucks ~ design a t-shirt - The Merrill Parks and Rec. Department is looking for someone to create/design a t-shirt for our summer playground participants. (You do not need to be a summer playground participant to enter the contest) The t-shirt will designate the child as a playground participant while on field trips and also will serve as a keepsake from their summer of fun! This t-shirt will be worn by over 100 kids - so be creative! GUIDELINES TO FOLLOW: 1. The design must be hand drawn. 2. Designs must be one color with a one color background. The background represents the color of the t-shirt - bright colors is best for the t-shirt. 3. Design must be submitted by May 1, 2010 on a 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper. 4. Designs must incorporate the following items: *2010 Summer Playground & *Merrill Park and Recreation. 5. ***PARK RESERVATIONS WILL BEGIN ON JANUARY 4, 2010. ALL RESERVATIONS MUST BE DONE IN PERSON. OFFICE OPENS AT 7:30 A.M. NO EARLY RESERVATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. RENTAL PRICES: Kitchenette: $60.00 rental fee, $50.00 security deposit; Ott's: $50.00 rental fee, $50.00 security deposit; Riverside: $50.00 rental fee, $50.00 security deposit; Stange: $50.00 rental fee, $50.00 security deposit.
***BIRTHDAY PARTIES: The Merrill Park and Recreation Department is now taking reservations for birthday parties at the Smith Center. Birthday parties are offered on Friday and Saturday evenings during open skate, plus we do have some Sunday afternoons available for birthday parties. We have 3 party packages to choose from:
**Ice Cream Package: Admission, skate rental, reserved table, paper products, balloons, ice cream cup, 1 bottle of soda (20 oz bottle), treat for the birthday child. $6.00 per child
**Hot dog package: Admission, skate rental, reserved table, paper products, balloons, ice cream cup, hot dog, name announcement, 1 bottle of soda, (20 oz bottle) treat for the birthday child. $7.00 per child.
**Pizza package: Admission, skate rental, reserved table, paper products, balloons, ice cream cup, pizza, 1 bottle soda (20 oz bottle), treat for birthday child. $8.00 per child
