The Emerald Ash Borer has been confirmed in Southeast Wisconsin, near LaCrosse, and now most recently in the Green Bay Area (7/28/09). The State & Federal Government is assessing the situation currently and we will be brought up to speed very shortly. I will pass along any key information that I can, when I can.
The State of Wisconsin will continue with a firewood ban on all firewood being brought into Wisconsin. This ban has been issued to attempt to keep the Emerald Ash Borer out of our area forests. . . Please use local firewood within a 50 mile radius of your destination.
**Due to the drought conditions once again this summer, please water your trees. Trees can only handle a few consecutive years of drought before they show signs of stress. . . leaf discoloration, leaf drop, dieback from the top down, branch shedding, etc. Watering your trees consistently can help trees through these conditions.
